Course curriculum
The prevalence of implant biological complications has increased enormously over the last decade, in accordance with the impact of biofilm and its by-products on the development of diseases. Deleterious habits and systemic conditions have been considered risk factors for peri-implantitis. However, little is known about the influence of local variables on the onset and progression of the disease. The lecture aims to present the emerging local predisposing factors that place patients/dental implants at risk of developing peri-implantitis.
